The legend reads 'Sultan Bayezid bin Mehmed Khan' in several lines, typical of the tughra-less mangir coinage of the early Ottoman period. The script is deeply incuse with characteristic hammered technique, producing an uneven surface with moderate relief. Flan edges are irregular and show the characteristic fabric of Ottoman copper coinage of the late 15th century. |
