The design is characteristic of the simplified decorative motifs employed on small copper Ottoman manghir issues of the late 15th and early 16th centuries. The flan is irregular, with a rough, granular surface typical of hammered copper coinage of this period. Patina is dark green with areas of cuprite, consistent with extended burial or circulation. |
