Obverse description Two interlaced arabesque ornaments occupying the upper register of the field, rendered in a flowing curvilinear style characteristic of late 15th-century Ottoman decorative art. The two arabesques are separated from the lower register by a pair of horizontal raised lines running across the width of the flan. The lower register contains a smaller arabesque motif. The overall design is anonymous and purely ornamental, with no inscriptional content on this side.
