| Popis líce | Central field features a facing effigy of Daikoku, the Shinto deity of wealth and fortune, depicted wearing his characteristic broad-brimmed hat (kasa) and seated upon bales of rice (tawara), which are rendered in low relief at the base of the design. The deity holds a wish-granting mallet (uchide no kozuchi) and is flanked by additional symbolic attributes. Incorporated within the design is the kanji character '宝' (Hō), referencing the Hōei era, serving as an authentication and period mark. The entire motif is rendered in the bold, stylized hammered technique characteristic of Edo-period bean silver coinage. |
