| Description de l’avers | Bearded, pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust of Julian facing right, rendered in high relief with careful attention to portraiture detail. The pearl diadem is tied at the rear with a double strand of beads, its ends trailing behind the neck. The emperor's short beard, characteristic of Julian's distinctive iconography and his philosophical affiliation, is finely rendered. The paludamentum is fastened at the shoulder with a round brooch, and the cuirass is visible beneath the drapery. The encircling Latin legend reads D N IVLIANVS NOB CAES, identifying him as Caesar. |

| Description du revers | A Apis bull stands in full profile to the right, its head turned frontally to face the viewer, a design of strong symbolic resonance associating Julian with traditional Hellenic and pagan religious revival. Two stars are positioned in the upper field, one to each side of the bull, framing the central device. The reverse legend SECVRITAS REI PVB encircles the design, proclaiming the security of the Roman state. In the exergue, the mint mark NIKA appears flanked by palm branches extending from each side, denoting the first officina of the Nicomedia mint. |
