Reverse description The emperor stands facing, helmeted and in full military attire, holding a labarum (Chi-Rho standard) in his right hand and a Victory-surmounted globus in his left, conveying imperial dominion over the Roman world. A captive figure is depicted seated or prostrate at the emperor's feet, symbolising Roman military supremacy. The mint mark SMKB appears in the exergue, identifying this piece as struck at the Cyzicus mint, second officina. The encircling legend reads GLORIA ROMANORVM around the outer field.
