| Obverse description | A hunting hound rendered in fine archaic Greek style, depicted in full gallop to the right with all four legs extended in a flying leap, tail raised. The animal's musculature is rendered with considerable skill given the diminutive flan size. A dotted border runs along the upper periphery of the coin, framing the design within the irregular flan. |

| Reverse description | Facing bust of the eponymous nymph Segesta in right profile, her hair swept up into a krobylos and secured by a pearl diadem, rendered in the elegant archaic style characteristic of early Sicilian coinage. The portrait is contained within a shallow circular incuse square, a technique typical of early western Greek silver coinage. The retrograde Greek ethnic legend ΣΕΓΕΣΤΑΖΙΒ is inscribed around the periphery of the incuse field. |
