| Beschrijving voorzijde | Head of the nymph Arethusa facing right, hair elaborately braided and bound with a beaded diadem, rendered in fine archaic style with delicate engraving. The hair falls in parallel incised waves behind the neck, with a loose curl descending before the ear. To the right of the effigy, the retrograde ethnic inscription ΣΥΡ appears in three Greek letters arranged vertically in the field. The entire design is enclosed within a dotted border. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Octopus rendered frontally in bold relief, its bulbous mantle at centre top and eight tentacles radiating and curling outward in graceful spirals to fill the flan. The tentacles are depicted with naturalistic suckers and sinuous curves, conveying vigorous movement. The design occupies the full field without inscription, consistent with early Syracusan silver coinage of the Deinomenid and early democratic periods. No border visible on this die. |
