| Popis rubu | The reverse displays a plain fleurdelisée cross — a cross whose four arms terminate in fleurs-de-lis — centered prominently in the field, a classic motif on French royal petite monnaie of the period. The cross arms are boldly rendered, with the fleur-de-lis terminals clearly articulated despite the worn state of the flan. A circular Latin legend surrounds the design, reading SIT NOMEN D BEN D T, an abbreviated devotional inscription (Sit Nomen Domini Benedictum, Deo et Tibi), a standard reverse legend on Henrician liards. A sun privy mark and the date of issue appear within the legend. The overall style is characteristic of hammered billon production from a French provincial mint of the late sixteenth century. |
