| Opis rewersu | A plain cross with flared terminals, contained within a raised inner circle, divides the field into four equal quadrants. A small pellet or ornament appears at the centre of the cross. The surrounding legend, reading S+THEODOLVS+1594, invokes Saint Theodore, patron saint of the Valais, with the date of issue incorporated into the inscription. The border of the coin is irregular and characteristically uneven, consistent with hammered production technique. |
