Reverse description The reverse bears a multi-line Cyrillic legend filling the entire field of the irregular oval flan, reading the full titulature of Peter I in Old Church Slavonic script. The inscription, arranged in horizontal lines across the coin, reads 'ЦРЬ И ВЕЛИКIИ КНѦЗЬ ПЕТРЪ АЛЕѮIЕВИЧЬ ВСЕѦ РУСИ' (Tsar and Grand Prince Peter Alekseyevich of All Russia). The bold, blocky Cyrillic letterforms are characteristic of the Moscow Mint wire money production of this period. The irregular planchet causes partial truncation of the legend at the edges, a standard feature of the hammered wire coinage technique.
