| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field bearing a multi-line Arabic religious inscription arranged in a dense, roughly square cartouche. The legend reads 'Allahu Hasbuna wa Ni'ma al-Wakil' (Allah is sufficient for us and the best disposer of affairs), rendered in a bold, archaic hand typical of hammered billon coinage. The inscription is enclosed within a dotted inner border. The overall striking is irregular, characteristic of the primitive mint techniques employed by the Emirate of Abdelkader. |
