Reverse description Central field bearing a multi-line Arabic inscription arranged in a square frame divided by a cross-shaped grid, a layout characteristic of North African hammered coinage of the period. The legend reads 'Duriba fi Taqdemt' (struck in Taqdemt) above the Hijri date, here 1255. The field is decorated with small pellets or dots interspersed among the script. A dotted border encircles the central cartouche, and the flan is irregular with slightly ragged edges consistent with hammered production.
