Jital - Taj al-Din Yildiz

Taj al-Din Yildiz was a Turkic slave-general who inherited Ghazni after the assassination of Mu'izz al-Din Muhammad in 1206, ruling as an increasingly isolated successor while the Delhi Sultanate consolidated power to his east and the Khwarazmian Empire pressed from the west. Qutb al-Din Aibak drove him permanently from Ghazni around 1215, ending his already tenuous hold on the region. Jitals of his reign represent the fractured final phase of Ghurid monetary output — struck in a debased billon that reflects the fiscal strain of a dynasty disintegrating under simultaneous pressure from multiple directions.
