Obverse description Equestrian figure depicted in profile facing left, the rider seated upon a walking horse and brandishing a spear held upright in the right hand; the design is contained within a plain inner circle typical of the Indo-Muslim jital series. The execution is characteristic of the schematic, stylized die-cutting convention of Ghurid billon coinage, with the horse and rider rendered in low relief on an irregular flan. The overall composition continues the iconographic tradition inherited from earlier Ghaznavid equestrian types.
