| 背面描述 | A four-line Arabic legend occupies the central field, reading 'Baha / as-sultan / al-a`zam / malik-Arslan', proclaiming the glory and titles of Sultan Arslanshah. The inscription is boldly struck in raised relief in the characteristic angular Kufic style typical of Ghaznavid hammered coinage. The legend is enclosed within a dotted border encircling the entire reverse. The flan is irregular, as is characteristic of hammered jitals of this series. |

Arslanshah's reign lasted barely a year. He seized the Ghaznavid throne in 1116 only to be deposed and almost certainly killed by his brother Bahramshah, who held the sultanate for the next four decades with Seljuk backing. Coins from Arslanshah's Lahore mint are consequently among the rarest Ghaznavid jitals by simple arithmetic of reign length, produced within a window of political collapse rather than consolidated authority.
