Reverse description A four-line Arabic legend occupies the central field, reading 'Baha / as-sultan / al-a`zam / malik-Arslan', proclaiming the glory and titles of Sultan Arslanshah. The inscription is boldly struck in raised relief in the characteristic angular Kufic style typical of Ghaznavid hammered coinage. The legend is enclosed within a dotted border encircling the entire reverse. The flan is irregular, as is characteristic of hammered jitals of this series.
