Reverse description The reverse retains the original Saxony Thaler design, featuring a richly detailed coat of arms of Electoral Saxony, composed of multiple quartered heraldic fields incorporating the rampant lion, barry of ten, and the electoral sword, all within a baroque cartouche. A circular Latin legend runs along the periphery within a beaded border, identifying the issuing Saxon authority. The surface bears the characteristic wear and adjustment marks consistent with a circulated host coin that was subsequently countermarked for reuse in the Russian monetary system.
