Obverse description Central field bears the abbreviated royal name of King Giorgi (George III) rendered in Asomtavruli script, surrounded by six heart-shaped rosettes that divide the surrounding area into six outfields. Each of the six outfields is filled with Asomtavruli lettering forming a devotional royal invocation. The overall layout is radially symmetrical, with the rosette motifs serving as decorative separators between the legend segments. The strike is characteristic of medieval Georgian hammered coinage, resulting in an irregular flan with uneven relief.
