| Beschrijving voorzijde | Facing nimbed bust of the Virgin Orans (Theotokos), shown in three-quarter length with hands raised in the orant posture, set against a stylized depiction of the walls of Constantinople rendered as a turreted enclosure with six towers. The Virgin's maphorion is rendered in fine linear detail characteristic of Palaiologan artistic style. Control letters (sigla) appear in the field flanking the central figure.
