Mô tả mặt trước Laureate head of Asklepios facing right, rendered in a Hellenistic style with flowing hair and beard visible beneath the laurel wreath. The portrait is boldly struck within the rounded flan, occupying most of the obverse field. Surface patination obscures fine detail but the god's characteristic mature, bearded effigy remains clearly identifiable.

Thông tin bổ sung

Pergamon's civic bronze issues of this period were struck under the Attalid dynasty at the height of the kingdom's cultural and political influence — a state that had allied with Rome against the Seleucids at Magnesia in 190 BC and was rewarded with substantial territorial gains in Asia Minor. The city's mint was prolific, producing bronze fractions for local market use as the kingdom expanded its administrative reach across the Aegean coast.

When Attalos III died without an heir in 133 BC, he bequeathed the entire kingdom to Rome — a decision that ended Pergamene coinage almost immediately and remains one of the stranger voluntary transfers of sovereign territory in antiquity.
