| 背面描述 | Shallow incuse square divided into four irregular compartments by raised ridges forming a rough cruciform pattern, typical of the early incuse technique employed in Archaic Greek coinage of the Troad region. The divisions are asymmetric and crudely executed, reflecting the transitional die-making practices of the period. The overall impression is that of a mill-sail or windmill incuse, a common reverse type on small fractional silver of this era. |

Kebren was a minor Aeolian city in the Troad, sitting on the Kebren river inland from the Hellespont, and its coinage is among the scarcest of the region's archaic issues. The city was eventually absorbed into the Troad's shifting political orbit during the Persian consolidation of western Anatolia — which gives this hemiobol's dating window particular significance, falling squarely across Darius I's reorganization of Ionian tribute obligations after the failed revolt of 499–493 BC.
