Reverse description A kantharos (two-handled wine vessel) depicted centrally within a linear border or incuse square, flanked on each side by a palm branch or thyrsus, forming a symmetrical heraldic composition typical of Thessalian civic bronzes. Below the kantharos, the ethnic legend ΛΑΡΙ[ΣΑΙ] appears in archaic Greek characters, identifying the issuing city of Larissa. The overall design is boldly struck within a rectilinear frame, and the reverse field shows the characteristic flat relief of hammered municipal bronze coinage of the fourth century BC.
