The facial features are rendered with characteristic early Classical simplicity, with a prominent eye and strong jawline. The helmet crest rises prominently above the head, its incised striations suggesting individual plumes or a horsehair crest. To the right of the head, a small boar's head is visible in profile, serving as an additional civic emblem of Methymna. | Beschrijving keerzijde | An owl stands in profile facing right, rendered in the archaic style characteristic of Lesbian coinage of this period. The bird is depicted with a large rounded head, a prominent frontal eye indicated by a circular incuse, and folded wings with incised feather detail.
