| Beschrijving voorzijde | A scallop shell depicted in full frontal view, its radiating ribs fanning outward from a central point toward a serrated upper edge, rendered in fine relief with naturalistic detail. The shell rests upon a flat base with two small rounded lobes at the lower margin, suggestive of the shell's hinge. The design fills the flan with bold, confident engraving characteristic of Tarentine coinage of the late Classical period.
