| Reverse description | A tall tripod cauldron with three curved legs terminating in claw feet is depicted facing, set within a linear square border and an outer circular incuse channel. The tripod bowl is rounded with a flat rim and a small handle visible at the top, rendered in careful relief. To the left of the tripod the abbreviation ΠΡΙΗ (for Priene) is inscribed vertically, and to the right the magistrate's name ΔΙΟΚΛΗΣ appears vertically in Greek characters. The tripod is a well-established civic symbol of Apollo and appears consistently on the coinage of Priene during the Hellenistic period. |
