| Aanvullende informatie |
Kyme was the largest and most prosperous of the Aeolian cities on the western coast of Asia Minor, yet it produced coinage with remarkable restraint relative to its economic standing. The hemidrachm denomination placed it in regular small-transaction circulation rather than the prestige issues favored by competing Ionian mints. SNG Copenhagen 35 is among the better-documented die pairings for this type, though the series as a whole has received less systematic study than the coinage of neighboring Phocaea or Mytilene.
