Dodatkowe informacje

Korone was a minor coastal polis on the southwestern tip of the Messenia peninsula, and its independent coinage output was modest by any measure. By the first century BC, most Peloponnesian communities had long abandoned autonomous silver issues, making this hemidrachm something of an anachronism — struck well into the Roman provincial period, when such local silver had become economically marginal at best. The BCD Peloponnesos reference collection remains the primary scholarly anchor for attributing these pieces, as die linkage studies across that corpus revealed a far smaller production run than the number of surviving specimens might initially suggest.
