Descrizione del dritto	The hero Thessalos depicted nude save for a chlamys draped over his shoulders, striding vigorously to the right with his petasos fallen to the ground beneath his feet. His bearded head is turned in three-quarter face toward the viewer, lending a sense of dynamic engagement to the composition. With both hands he grasps a band or rope looped around the head of a bull's forepart, which rushes to the right in a posture of resistance. The scene is rendered in the vigorous archaic-to-early-classical style characteristic of Thessalian coinage, with bold, high-relief modelling. The composition fills the flan with confident, energetic draftsmanship.
