Obverse description Laureate head of Zeus facing right, rendered in a robust Hellenistic style with characteristically full, wavy beard and thick flowing locks cascading behind the neck. The divine effigy displays a prominent brow and strong facial features typical of Ptolemaic die-cutting tradition. The olive-leaf laurel wreath crowning the head is rendered in high relief, with individual leaves discernible on well-preserved specimens. The entire design is contained within a dotted border encircling the coin field.
