The facial features are delicately modelled, exhibiting the characteristic softness of late Archaic Ionian die-engraving. A small seal (phoke), the civic badge of Phokaia, is positioned to the lower right of the effigy, oriented downward. The flan is convex and irregular, typical of struck Phocaean electrum hektes. |

The surface of each quadrant displays the characteristic rough, granular texture resulting from the hammered incuse technique. No legend or subsidiary devices are present.
