The bold, high-relief modeling gives the apotropaic image a commanding presence despite the small flan, with serpentine coils extending toward the periphery of the coin. |

The reverse type mirrors the obverse in iconographic program, a convention well attested on Lesbian electrum hektai of this period, with the entire design contained within a shallow incuse square produced by the hammer blow of the reverse die. |
