背面描述 A decorative tripod cauldron, depicted frontally and tied with a fillet or ribbon, is shown in fine relief within a linear incuse square border. The tripod bowl rests atop three elegantly curved legs adorned with hanging fillets and floral ornaments terminating at the feet. The binding ribbons loop around the upper structure and hang loosely at the sides, rendered with careful detail. The entire composition is contained within a recessed square frame, a hallmark device of the Mytilene electrum hekte coinage.

附加信息

Mytilene's electrum hektes were struck under a unique arrangement: the city maintained a long-running bimetallic tradition in which electrum served local and regional exchange while silver circulated elsewhere in the Aegean economy. The series spans decades of turbulent Lesbian politics, including the city's shifting allegiances during the Social War of 357–355 BC and its eventual submission to Macedonian authority under Philip II. Bodenstedt's classification of this specific type, number 91 in his 1981 die study, places it firmly in the later portion of the series — post-370 BC by his chronology.
