| Obverse description | Draped and veiled bust of Demeter facing right, her hair rendered in fine strands beneath a veil, adorned with a wreath of grain ears crowning her head. The portrait is executed in high relief with refined archaic-to-classical style engraving characteristic of the Mytilene electrum series. The goddess wears a pendant earring visible at the ear, and the veil falls in soft folds behind the neck. The facial features are idealized, with a prominent eye, well-defined nose, and slightly parted lips, conveying serene divinity. |
