| 背面描述 | Facing bust of the emperor John VII Palaiologos, depicted nimbate and wearing the imperial loros and domed crown surmounted by a cross with pendilia hanging to either side, the forked beard rendered in a bifurcated form characteristic of late Palaiologan imperial portraiture. A pellet or dot appears in the right field. The surrounding legend, partially disposed around the bust, reads + IWANIC BACILEVC O ΠAΛAOΛOΓO, identifying the issuer as John Palaiologos, Emperor. The reverse composition follows established late Byzantine conventions for imperial portrait coinage. |
