| Opis awersu | Facing bust of Christ Pantocrator within a beaded border, depicted nimbate with a cross nimbus ornamented with pellets, clad in himation over chiton, the right hand raised in benediction and the left hand holding a jewelled Book of Gospels. The sacred monogram IC-XC (Iesous Christos) is disposed across the fields to either side of the bust, with C-Π flanking the figure. The style is characteristic of late Byzantine coin portraiture, with schematic rendering of facial features and drapery folds. |

| Opis rewersu | Facing bust of the emperor John VII Palaiologos, depicted nimbate and wearing the imperial loros and domed crown surmounted by a cross with pendilia hanging to either side, the forked beard rendered in a bifurcated form characteristic of late Palaiologan imperial portraiture. A pellet or dot appears in the right field. The surrounding legend, partially disposed around the bust, reads + IWANIC BACILEVC O ΠAΛAOΛOΓO, identifying the issuer as John Palaiologos, Emperor. The reverse composition follows established late Byzantine conventions for imperial portrait coinage. |
