| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central shield bearing a double-headed eagle, flanked by three smaller heraldic shields arranged symmetrically within a double quadrilobe frame. A cross appears between the shields, and the entire composition is enclosed within a decorative gothic quadrilobe border. The Latin legend encircles the design, identifying John as the son of the Duke of Bavaria and Count of Hainaut and Holland. The engraving is characteristic of hammered Low Countries goldsmithing of the early fifteenth century. |
