Reverse description The crowned oval arms of Gdańsk (two silver crosses on a black field with a golden crown above), supported by two lions rampant, displayed within a beaded inner circle. The date appears in the upper field of the legend, divided to either side of the shield. A circular Latin legend surrounds the central device, identifying the denomination and the city of issue. The heraldic composition is typical of the civic coinage struck at the Gdańsk mint under royal privilege.
