Obverse description Central field depicts the characteristic Genoese castle (Castello) shown in three-quarter frontal view with two flanking towers and an arched gateway, all enclosed within a quadrilobe (four-lobed) inner border. The letter 'V' appears as a mintmark below the castle within the quadrilobe, with the letter 'm' visible to the right of the gateway. The design is framed by a beaded inner circle, beyond which a circular legend in uncial Latin characters runs along the outer rim. The overall style is consistent with late medieval Genoese hammered silver coinage, exhibiting bold, slightly irregular relief typical of the period.
