In his left hand he holds a whip or scourge, his traditional attribute as the chastiser of heresy, while his right hand grasps a crozier. The saint is shown seated upon an ornate throne, rendered with considerable detail within an inner beaded or foliate border. The surrounding legend in Latin identifies the saint and his role as patron of Milan. |
