The terminal portion of the legend is punctuated by a small heraldic shield of Pfannberg flanked by trefoils, serving as a mark of the ruling lord Ulrich of Pfannberg. The cross pattée is rendered in the characteristic hammered style of early 14th-century Italian coinage. The inner reeded circle separates the central cross device from the outer legend. The overall composition reflects the standard grosso format prevalent in the Veneto lordships of the period. |
