| Aversbeschreibung | A plain cross pattée occupies the central field, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding legend, rendered in Gothic uncial script, runs continuously around the periphery reading the name and title of Henry, Count of Lancaster, followed by a devotional formula. The flan is irregular and slightly chipped, characteristic of hammered medieval coinage of the mid-fourteenth century. |

| Reversbeschreibung | An embattled castle with merlons is depicted prominently at the center of the field, flanked and surrounded by decorative foliage or leaf ornaments in the angles and around the periphery. Below the castle a key motif is visible, and the legend identifying the issuer as Lord of Bergerac runs around the outer field in Gothic uncial characters. The overall design is bold and heraldic in character, consistent with Anglo-Gascon feudal coinage of the period. The flan shows typical irregular edges and surface wear associated with hammered silver issues of the mid-fourteenth century. |

| Zusätzliche Informationen |
Henry of Lancaster — the same man who would soon lead English forces through Gascony and help negotiate the Treaty of Calais — held Bergerac as part of his extensive Aquitainian interests during one of the most turbulent stretches of the Hundred Years' War. This issue falls precisely within the years following the Black Death's first catastrophic sweep through southwestern France, when mint output across the region collapsed and local lords increasingly struck their own silver to fill the vacuum left by disrupted royal supply chains.
The Dy féodales 995A attribution marks this as a rare feodal type; Lancaster's tenure at Bergerac ended when he was created the first Duke of Lancaster in 1351.
