| Popis rubu | An embattled castle with merlons is depicted prominently at the center of the field, flanked and surrounded by decorative foliage or leaf ornaments in the angles and around the periphery. Below the castle a key motif is visible, and the legend identifying the issuer as Lord of Bergerac runs around the outer field in Gothic uncial characters. The overall design is bold and heraldic in character, consistent with Anglo-Gascon feudal coinage of the period. The flan shows typical irregular edges and surface wear associated with hammered silver issues of the mid-fourteenth century. |
