Reverse description Central field divided by a long upright sword, its crossguard prominently displayed near the top, flanked on each side by a displayed eagle — the dexter eagle representing Lorraine and the sinister eagle representing the Marquisate — all contained within a beaded inner circle. The eagles are rendered in the Gothic style with spread wings and detailed plumage, standing on small decorative crosses or fleurs. The surrounding peripheral legend reads MONETA FECTA In nANCEIO, denoting the Nancy mint, separated from the inner device by a beaded border. The hammered flan shows the characteristic irregular edge and variable strike of 14th-century ducal workshop production.
