The cross is rendered in the Gothic hammered style typical of mid-14th-century Anglo-Gascon coinage. A beaded inner border separates the central motif from the surrounding legend. The circumferential inscription in Gothic uncial lettering runs along the outer margin, invoking a Marian-style benediction alongside the royal title of Edward as King of England. |
