The design is framed by a legend inscribed between two pearled (beaded) circles. The reverse legend, rendered in uncial Latin, reads SOC` IST`₀ M`₀ FCE₀ LVCEMBG`₀, an abbreviated form of Socii istius monetae factae in Lucemburgo, identifying this as solidarity coinage struck in Luxembourg. The composition is characteristic of mid-14th-century Luxembourgish hammered silver issues. |
