| Obverse description | Central quartered shield displaying the heraldic arms of Trier in the first and fourth quarters, Bohemia in the second quarter, and Luxembourg in the third quarter, set within a six-lobed double-rib epicycloid frame. The shield is surrounded by a legend contained between two pearled (beaded) circles. The lettering is rendered in uncial characters and reads: + BOEM`₀ ARChPS₀ ET₀ W`₀ DVX, referencing Wenceslaus I as King of Bohemia, Archbishop, and Duke. The overall design reflects the composite dynastic authority of the issuer. |
