| Obverse description | The crowned lion of Luxembourg rampant to the left occupies the central field, rendered on a bureled (horizontally lined) ground. The design is framed by a beaded inner circle, beyond which the circular Latin legend is inscribed, itself bounded by an outer beaded girdle. The lion is depicted in the characteristic heraldic style of the period, with stylized mane and raised forepaw, consistent with hammered coinage of the early fifteenth century. |

| Reverse description | A cross pattée at the center divides the field into four quarters: the first quarter bears the lion of Brabant, the second and third quarters each contain a six-spoked openwork star, and the fourth quarter displays the lion of Limburg. The cross terminals are flared and slightly concave in characteristic pattée fashion. The entire central design is enclosed within two concentric beaded circles, between which the circular Latin legend is inscribed. |
