| Obverse description | Central field displays a long cross pattee dividing the coin into four quarters, with a small lis in each quarter angle. Two concentric circular legends surround the cross: the inner legend reads the royal name and title of Jean II, while the outer legend bears the devotional Christogram inscription. The design is executed in the Gothic hammered style typical of mid-14th century French royal coinage, with beaded inner and outer borders framing both legend bands. |

| Reverse description | Central field features a crowned fleur-de-lis, the royal emblem of the French crown, set within a Gothic architectural frame of twelve ornate trefoil-headed arches arranged in a circle. Each arch is decorated with foliate tracery, creating a rich Gothic decorative border characteristic of Capetian and Valois royal coinage. The legend FRANC-OR:REX, proclaiming the king as Rex Francorum, is distributed between the arches and the outer legend band. A beaded border frames the entire design. |
