Obverse description Two heraldic shields bearing the coats of arms of Gelre and Jülich, tilted toward one another in the field, with a trefoil (clover leaf) ornament between them. Each shield is surmounted by a tournament helmet rendered in Gothic style. A circular legend in Latin uncial script runs along the periphery, reading the full ducal title of Arnold of Egmond as Duke of Gelre and Jülich and Count of Zutphen.
